Apple is extending the free trial of its Apple TV+ streaming service, offered to purchasers of new Apple devices.
When Apple TV+ first launched in November 2019, the Cuppertino company offered a free 12-month subscription with purchases of devices including iPhones, Mac computers and the Apple TV device itself.
As the original period ended, Apple extended those free subscriptions to February 2021. Now 9to5Mac reports these will be extended again through until the end of July.
While there is undoubtedly some excellent content on Apple TV+, from Ted Lasso through to The Snoopy Show, the service lacks the depth of a Netflix of Amazon Prime.
Arguably the best feature is within Apple TV itself as it combines recently watched content from leading services Disney+ and Netflix in with local providers such as BBC iPlayer to produce a personal experience for the viewer.
