The popularity of online video viewing has increased significantly in the Czech Republic.
According to the national transmission company CRa, which provides its infrastructure to such companies as the TV broadcasters Nova and Prima and publishing house Mafra for the provision of OTT services, the volume of transferred data in October was 28% higher than a month earlier.
It was also 54% higher than in October last year.
Commenting on the figures, CRa sales director Milos Mastnik said that online video viewing is now more spread out throughout the day rather than concentrated in evening peaks.
CRa provides the OTT product Media Cloud which includes a full range of services from content processing for distribution on the Internet to delivery to the end customer’s device.
It uses its own infrastructure for video content processing and at the same time its own CDN.
