Vodafone rolls out smart speaker in Spain

November 11, 2020 13.16 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

Vodafone España has launched Átika, a smart speaker that integrates TV voice control functionalities, premium sound quality and Amazon Alexa.

According to the company, it is the first loudspeaker on the market to be launched by an operator in Spain and combines all these functionalities in a single device.

Vodafone has partnered with Sagemcom for the design and manufacture of the hardware and for the development and integration of software that enables proper detection and management of voice.

This speaker is also equipped with Space, a unique technology developed by Devialet, which creates an immersive sound experience from a standalone device and from any format (stereo or multichannel), without additional speakers.
Átika also has AVL (Adaptive Volume Level) technology from Devialet, which dynamically and automatically adapts the volume level of the device in real time according to the content played. In addition, it has Dolby Audio 5.1 surround sound the Amazon Alexa voice service integrated.

Átika is available to both Vodafone TV customers and non-customers, although the latter, as they do not have the Vodafone TV service, will not be able to enjoy the TVs voice control functionality. However, they will be able to enjoy the best sound quality and integration with Amazon Alexa.

Átika is priced at €399, but Vodafone customers can purchase it at a special price from €216, or finance it for 36 months from €6/ month. On the occasion of Black Friday, from November 16 to 30, Átika can be purchased for €144, or financed for 36 months at a price of €4 /month for unlimited rates.
