The Polish public broadcaster Telewizja Polska (TVP) will launch a documentary channel on November 19.
According to TVP, it is the largest producer and coproducer of documentaries in Poland and show several dozen documentary films on its channels. Great interest in TVP’s documentary content has contributed to the creation of the new channel within the broadcaster’s Centre of Culture and History.
TVP Dokument will be broadcast in HD and distributed by cable networks and via satellite.
TVP also plans to expand its distribution terrestrially.
TVP Dokument will be headed by Tomasz Piechal, currently the head of documentaries at TVP.
