The National Bank of Serbia (NBS) has confirmed that it has bought a small number of corporate bonds from Telekom Srbija.
Quoting Tanjug, b92 adds that the telco has also denied some press reports that it spent up to €100 million.
Indeed, the amount it bought was around a third, rather than about half, the issue as has been reported.
It also did not even remotely buy the maximum permitted amount of Telekom’s corporate bonds. This was limited to 70% of the total issue or RSD11 billion (€93.3 million) exposure to one issuer.
NBS in addition points out that the bonds were issued in dinars and that a total of five, rather than four, banks invested in the bonds. T
elekom Srbija issued corporate bonds for the first time ever on Friday, September 25. Their value amounted to RSD23.5 billion.
