“Made for TV” music service ROXi comes to Sky Q

September 8, 2020 11.13 Europe/London By Julian Clover

ROXi, the audio entertainment service backed by Robbie Williams, Sheryl Crow and Alesha Dixon, is launching on Sky Q.

Subscribers to the premium entertainment service will have access to Unlimited Music, Music Trivia Games, Karaoke-style Singalongs, Worldwide Radio, and Yoga and Meditation music for an additional £6.99 monthly. Customers can first sample ROXi with a £6.99 trial.

Rob Lewis, CEO, ROXi said: “Over the last decade we’ve witnessed an explosion of digital entertainment experiences, largely on small personal screens. But the next revolution in digital entertainment will not be about mobiles and tablets – it will be about shared entertainment experiences that bring friends and family together for great fun times together, delivered to consumers on the biggest screen in the home; the TV”.

ROXi’s fully interactive music entertainment experience boasts 55 million tracks including over 60,000 Karaoke-style “Sing With The Stars” tracks. There are also Name the Song music trivia games. Shareholders Robbie Williams, Alesha Dixon and Sheryl Crow have also created their own.

Previously, ROXi has been restricted to its own dedicated set-top box.

Fraser Stirling, Group Chief Product Officer, said: “Having access to all your favourite apps on the big TV screen is more important than ever as we use our televisions for everything from entertainment to fitness. ROXi is the latest in a line of brilliant services to be added to Sky Q, so you can get music, games, online video, education and TV all in one place.”

For Sky Q users with young children, ROXi comes with the Family Protect explicit content filter, keeping any explicit lyrics away from younger users. And ROXi’s Worldwide Radio features over 10,000 radio programmes across music, news, talk, sport and more.
