Katarzyna Kieli is to assume responsibility for Discovery’s operation in Poland in addition to her role as president and MD of EMEA.
As previously reported by Broadband TV News, she will replace Piotr Korycki, the president of TVN, who has decided to leave the company.
Commenting on his departure, Korycki said: ‘I leave the company in perfect shape. In 2020, TVN has achieved record market shares, is in good financial condition, has efficiently passed through difficult moments related to the pandemic and is prepared to cope with the challenges of the future. I joined the company when it was a private company with two TV channels and is now the largest multimedia group in Central Europe. I am proud of the entire TVN team and happy that for 17 years I was able to share difficult and joyful moments with them. I will always remain a viewer and fan of TVN”.
Kieli added: “Piotr was a very big contributor to TVN’s success. He conducted the acquisition of TVN by Discovery, supervised the subsequent integration of companies and led the digital transformation, which included such important events as the development of the Player and the launch of the TVN24 Go application, the leading video news platform in Poland. I would like to thank him very much for his contribution and commitment and wish him much success in the future”.
