The Russian cable operator ER-Telecom (Dom.ru) has begun to offer broadband services to the private sector in the Moscow region.
According to the company, its aim is to have revenues of R10 billion (€113.5 million) by the end of the year and to cover over 10,000 households with a communications network. Within five years, it plans to occupy a significant market share of the Moscow region.
Currently, its network is connected to 33 settlements in the region.
Services will be provided using WNGN technology. ER-Telecom notes that it launched its Country Internet Project in 2019 and today its network covers around half a million households throughout the company’s footprint. It plans to raise this figure to 4 million in the next four years.
Investment in the project currently stands at R1 billion and around R5 billion more will be spent over the next five years.
ER-Telecom employs three technologies for the delivery of its services, namely GPON, FTTb and WNGN.
