The Russian operator MTS ended the second quarter with 4.9 million pay-TV subscribers.
Although this was 6.8% more than the 4.6 million posted a year earlier, the total barely changed between Q2 2019 and Q1 2020.
As a result, MTS gained 300,000 subscribers in Q2 alone.
In its latest set of results, the company says that according to its analysis in Q2 its share of the Moscow B2C broadband market grew to 43.1% and that of the pay-TV market to 46.2%.
It also continued to see additional market penetration of its ultra-fast FTTH GPON connectivity, reaching over 2.1 million subscribers in Moscow in the B2C and B2B segments.
MTS Group as a whole had revenues of R117.7 billion (€1.35 billion) in the second quarter, or 1.3% more than in the same period last year.
Its adjusted OIBDA was R51.6 billion (+0.6%) and profit R11.8 billion (-7.5%). MTS operates in Russia, Armenia and Belarus.
