France Télévisions has fallen victim to a cyber attack, the public broadcaster has confirmed.
One of its transmission sites has been infected by a computer virus, though there has been no impact on broadcasts.
In a statement France Télévisions confirmed the broadcasting of France 3 will be transferred to the headquarters of France Télévisions and the backup site has already been activated.
The attack echoes the 2015 cyber attack on international broadcaster TV5 Monte. At the time the French security agency Anssi sent a team of 13 staff to TV5’s headquarters to carry out a root and branch audit of the channel’s information systems.
