The Czech public broadcaster Ceska Televize (CT) made a saving of CZK205 million (€7.68 million) last year.
In a statement, it says that in 2019 its total costs were CZK6.47 billion, or CZK205 billion less than in the budget.
Savings of CZK46 million were achieved in wages, production and operating costs, and further savings in such areas as the transition to DVB-T2. Meanwhile, revenues from business activities were CZK25 million more than planned.
CT notes that in 2019 it also operated in accordance with long-term plans approved by the Czech Television Council. These assumed the amount of available funds as of December 31 being CZK1.3 billion. This goal was met, with CT having CZK297 million more available.
Furthermore, CT says that last year it maintained its position as the leading broadcaster in the Czech Republic, attaining an audience share of 29.99% in the 15+ target group.
