The Polish SVOD service CDA Premium surpassed 300,000 subscribers this month.
This follows a successful first quarter, after having ended last year with 231,744 paying customers.
Commenting on the new milestone, Wolfgang Laskowski, a board member for service development and spokesman for CDA Premium, said: “Such a large increase in the number of people paying for CDA Premium was certainly due to the epidemic and the quarantine associated with it. However, the growing popularity of our service cannot be explained only by a lockdown, because virtually every subsequent quarterly result reported by the company is better than the previous one. Both in terms of financial results, the number of available films, downloaded applications for mobile devices and televisions, and the final number of people paying the subscription. Recent weeks have only strengthened these trends”.
CDA, which is listed on the NewConnect stock market, had record revenues of over PLN13 million (€2.85 million) and net profits of PLN3.7 million in the first quarter. Its revenues were 50% higher than a year earlier, with subscriptions to the premium on demand service accounting for 93% of the total.
CDA Premium was launched in January 2016 and currently has around 7,800 titles in its catalogue.
