BT Sport to broadcast every Bundesliga match

May 13, 2020 11.31 Europe/London By Julian Clover

Two months after the last ball was kicked, BT Sport is to broadcast every single match from the remainder of the Bundesliga, which restarts this weekend.

Germany is the first country to recommence its top flight soccer programme.

In a sport that is never too far away from hyperbole, Saturday’s coverage has been described as “an exceptional day of wall-to-wall live coverage”, for once not too far off the mark.

At least one game each weekend will be broadcast In 4K UHD.

Standout fixtures this Saturday include Borussia Dortmund and Schalke in the Revierderby (2.30pm kick off), RB Leipzig’s home clash with Freiburg (2.30pm kick off) and Borussia Mönchengladbach’s trip to Eintracht Frankfurt (5.30pm kick off). The coverage continues on Sunday with Champions Bayern Munich (5.30pm kick off), travelling to Union Berlin and on Monday Bayer visit relegation-threatened Werder Bremen (7.30pm kick off).

Each team has nine or 10 league matches to play in order to complete the season

BT Sport’s coverage will be presented live from the BT Sport Studio with contributions from home by guests and commentators.

Nordija White Paper Competition: Why you should welcome the commercial breaks

TV commercial breaks are annoying interruptions and can invoke much frustration – yes. Furthermore, the future of a lot of the linear TV channels looks uncertain in the wake of on demand streaming services – offering content without long commercial breaks. So, where does this leave TV commercials as we know them today? What if embracing flow TV commercials could act as a life vest to keep the good content adrift?
