Croatia’s government has adopted a National Action Plan for the use of the 470-790 MHz frequency band.
In a statement, the regulator HAKOM says that the plan sets out the basic guidelines for the conversion and permitted use of the 694-790 MHz band, the so-called digital dividend, for terrestrial systems that can provide wireless broadband electronic communication services.
It also ensures the availability of the 470-694 MHz frequency band for the provision of terrestrial TV services and the further development of terrestrial TV, as well as for use by wireless audio systems for the production of programmes and special events.
HAKOM notes that the 470-790 MHz band is currently used for terrestrial TV services and the production of such events.
Decisions by the European Parliament and Council provide for the use of the 700 MHz band for wireless broadband electronic communications services and the availability of the 470-694 MHz band for terrestrial broadcasting services, including free TV and for use by the PMSE wireless audio, taking into account the principle of technology neutrality.
