The Czech media entrepreneur Jaromir Soukup has insisted he is the sole owner of Empresa Media and TV Barrandov.
Speaking to Forbes magazine and quoted by Digizone, he added that the majority (57%) stake held by his Chinese partners Rainbow Wisdom Investment (RWI) in the advertising agency Médea does not mean it has control over his media interests.
However, fears have been expressed that by recently exercising an option to increase its stake in Médea RWI could influence many areas of the Czech media as it manages advertising budgets of about CZK3 billion (€109.1 million).
Furthermore, it has been pointed out that Soukup finances TV Barrandov through Médea.
TV Barrandov was launched in 2009 and is one of the main commercial broadcasters in the Czech Republic.
