Tele2 has withdrawn proposals for an extraordinary dividend until it has more visibility on the impact of the coronavirus pandemic.
The Swedish telco’s Board of Directors had previously proposed a dividend of SEK 3.50 per share, but is maintaining plans for a SEK 5.50 per share ordinary dividend, and will revisit the extraordinary dividend when there is more clarity on the pandemic
Tele2 has made a number of improvements to its product mix during 2019 such as upgrades to broadband speed and mobile data. It has been encouraged customers onto fixed mobile convergence plans and now has 230,000 on such offers.
However, erosion within digital TV services continues, a loss of 15,000 households within the pay-DTT service Boxer was exacerbated by increased churn, brought about by the loss of TV4 Group channels last December.
