Roku has updated its operating system with improvements its Search and Discovery, particularly Roku Voice.
Roku OS 9.3 will begin rolling out to select Roku players next month and is expected to roll out to all supported streaming players, including the Roku Smart Soundbar, in the coming weeks.
The free software update includes new customisation options, designed to improve performance on older devices.
Roku Voice search results will now be presented in an “easy to browse” display. Rows have been categorised to improve discovery.
Spanish Language Roku Voice Support has also been introduced, making it possible to search for titles, actors or genres in the language as well as control media playback on your Roku device.
Support for News Related Commands is another new feature “Show me the news” will taje the viewer will direct the viewer to a Roku Zone with available news channels.
There have also been improvements to the Roku mobile app.
