Rostelecom gains pay-TV customers

The Russian incumbent telco Rostelecom saw its pay-TV subscriber base grow by 3% in 2019.

According to the company’s latest set of results, it stood at 10.4 million as of the end of last year, up from 10.1 million 12 months earlier.

Of this total, 5.6 million, or 6% more than a year earlier, received IPTV services.

Meanwhile, pay-TV ARPU in Q4 was R255 (€3.46), or 2% more than a year earlier.

However, that for IPTV services fell by 2% to R320. Rostelecom also saw growth in B2C broadband customers in 2019, with the year-end total of 12.2 million being 1% up on 2018.

The company as a whole saw its revenues increase by 5% to R337,421 million in 2019, with OIBDA up to 6% to R106,526 million.

Net income was 10% higher at R16,474 million.
