The Eltrona brand is to be rolled out across Luxembourg after Telenet Group agreed to merge its SFR-Coditel business into the cablenet.
At the same time Post Luxembourg group, a shareholder in Eltrona since 1998, is selling its 34% holding to Telenet.
“This strategic partnership is the ideal solution, for both Telenet and Eltrona. Both parties possess complementary skills and we believe that combining them will enable us to offer an attractive grouped range of telecommunications products and services on a Luxembourg market that is constantly developing,” said John Porter, CEO, Telenet.
SFR-Coditel Luxembourg became a part of Telenet in 2017. The latest move means the SFR brand will disappear in Luxembourg to be replaced by the Eltrona brand.
“This merger enables Eltrona to consolidate its position in Luxembourg, making it more competitive on the Grand Duchy’s telecommunications market. The pooling of resources and the expertise of Telenet and Eltrona will allow Eltrona to develop its range of products and services, while meeting the needs of the Luxembourg market in the best possible way, said Paul Denzle, CEO, Eltrona.
The merger is expected to be completed in the next few weeks and the new entity begin operations in early April.
It’s expected the Eltrona brand will appear nationwide from June 30.
