The commercial TV channels Nova, Nova Cinema, Prima, Prima Cool and Barrandov TV will stop broadcasting in the DVB-T standard on Multiplex 2 in South Bohemia on February 13.
According to the Czech national transmission company CRA, they will be joined on by the remaining commercial services currently using Multiplex 3 on February 19 minutes before midnight.
On the morning of February 20 DVB-T2 will be launched for all commercial TV services on Multiplex 22 and 23, as well as those of the Czech public broadcaster CT on Multiplex 21.
CRa says that the transition to DVB-T2 remains on schedule in the Czech Republic, with the last remaining DVB-T transmitters set to close by the end of June.
Almost-thirds (60%) of viewers in the Czech Republic still watch terrestrial TV services.
