This, according to the company, was 4,000 fewer than a year earlier.

It also saw a reduction in broadband take-up of 24,000 to 1,263,000 over the same period.

The company’s net sales in Q4 2019 in Sweden amounted to SEK8,908 million (€840.1 million), down 5.2% on the same period a year earlier, while adjusted EBITDA was SEK3,668 million (+15.9%) and operating income SEK1,957 million (+53.3%).

In other markets, Telia ended Q4 with 600,000 TV subscribers in Finland, up 8.5% on a year earlier.

In Norway, its TV customer total fell by 4.8% year-on-year to 480,000 and in Denmark by 12.5% to 21,000.

TV take-up was static in Latvia (212,000) and grew only slightly in Lithuania (+0.8% to 244,000).

Telia’s like-for-like net sales declined 2.3% in Q4, while the total number of subscriptions rose from 24 million at the end of Q4 2018 to 24.2 million at the end of Q4 last year, driven by TV and media.

Total net income attributable to the owners of the parent amounted to SEK1,312 million, compared to -SEK1,087 million a year earlier.
