Netflix is exploring the possibility of opening an office in Rome.
In a story originally reported by Variety, the streamer would move its team of approximately 30 Italian staffers currently based at its European headquarters in Amsterdam to the Italian capital.
The possibility of Netflix opening an Italian office first merged last October. The comments from Netflix CEO Reed Hastings came in the wake of an investigation by prosecutors in Milan that Netflix’s presence on Italian servers made it liable for taxation under Italian law.
Netflix continues to develop local productions for the Italian market that include Curon, Three Steps Over Heaven and Fedeltà. It first launched in Italy in 2015.
Earlier this month, Netflix opened a new office in Paris that will be the base for 40 employees.
