Who says the set-top box is dead? Technicolor is demonstrating two versions of its JADE set-top at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas this week (January 7-10).
JADE is a 4K Ultra HD STB containing next generation, 16nm silicon and including the latest technology standards Wi-Fi 6 and AV1. The receiver is capable of running on both Android TV and RDK, and benefits from a powerful quad-core processor, Bluetooth 5.0 technology.
The company says the use of both RDK and Android represents the two primary paths for market strategies of platform operators.
“JADE features the latest system-on-a-chip (SoC) technology from Broadcom, making it one of the most versatile and powerful STBs on the market today,” said Christian Lefebvre, Senior Vice President Video Product Unit, Technicolor Connected Home.
Technicolor is looking to account for evolving consumer demand for product sets including gaming and the Internet of Things.
