Media Owners Committee formed in Poland

December 19, 2019 12.37 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

Representatives of Polish TV broadcasters have decided to set up a new organisation whose goal is to represent the interests of the union members in the field of media consumption research, and in particular TV media.

Work on launching the organisation lasted several months and one of its most important goals will be to develop a new standard in media research.

Commenting on the launch of MOC TV, Przemyslaw Broniszewski from the public broadcaster TVP said: “The last 12 months have been a period of very intensive work. Since December 2018, we have had at least a dozen large meetings with representatives of TV broadcasters, during which we also dealt with formal issues related to the establishment of the organisation, as well as the issue of cooperation on the creation of a new “gold standard of media research”. It was a very complicated operation and logistics process, which was a huge success”.

The new organisation has also appointed a supervisory board. It consists of one representative from the three largest broadcaster TVN, TVP and Polsat, plus a three-person representation acting on behalf of smaller broadcasters.

Rados?aw Ziolek from TVN became the chairman of the supervisory board of the association, and Przemyslaw Broniszewski, VP of the supervisory board of the association will act as the first president of the management board.

The 23 founding members of the association are:
