Telekom teams up with Media Broadcast for basketball

September 23, 2019 13.24 Europe/London By Jörn Krieger

Media Broadcast becomes Deutsche Telekom’s partner for the live sports offer on TV platform MagentaTV.

The German technical services provider will supply the MagentaTV broadcasting centre with signals from the German Basketball Bundesliga arenas from the 2019/20 season. The cooperation will initially run for four years.

Media Broadcast will take over the locally produced TV and audio signals of the around 1,400 games and transmit them from the stadiums live and in HD-SDI picture quality via fibre-optic lines and satellite feeds to the MagentaTV control room.

“With MagentaSport, we offer our viewers exciting sports coverage of the highest quality live on almost any device and everywhere,” said Dr Henning Stiegenroth, head of content and sponsoring at Telekom Deutschland. “The performance and reliability of all technical production partners is essential for our viewers to be able to enjoy the action at first hand. That’s why we chose Media Broadcast for the contribution of the content.”
