950,000 TV customers gain access to TV 2 Sport 1

August 5, 2019 10.29 Europe/London By Julian Clover

A new agreement between Telenor Norway, Canal Digital and TV 2 will give 950,000 households access to the Premier League and films and series from C More.

Customers will get access to TV 2 Sport 1 from the end of the summer.

The channel also includes the Champions League, Europa League and Nations League, alongside hockey, handball and cycling.

“We are very happy to further increase the sports offer to our customers. The timing is also good just before the start of the Premier League and the new season of the European leagues. With TV 2 Sport 1, we now have a complete sports content in place and strengthen our total TV offering, says Camilla Amundsen, head of TV in Telenor Norway, and Bjørn Ivar Moen, CEO of Canal Digital in a joint statement.

“With this agreement, we strengthen the long-term cooperation with Telenor and Canal Digital in sports and with film and series. We are pleased with the agreement on TV 2 Sport 1, so that even more people can enjoy fantastic sports content from TV 2. With Telenor and Canal Digital on the team we reach almost eighty percent of Norwegian households, and that only ten months after the launch of the new sports channel, says Olav T. Sandnes, chief editor and CEO of TV 2.

TV 2 Sport 1 will be available in the Basic Package for customers of Telenor Norway and in the Family Package for Canal Digital, and will be available to customers from 6 August.

The agreement also means that Telenor and Canal Digital can still offer TV 2 Sport Premium and Premier League to their customers.
