Poland’s second largest cable operator Vectra has decided to deploy the DOCSIS 3.1 standard in its broadband network.
As a result, it has been able to announce the launch of a 2Gbps today (July 24) in the capital, Warsaw.
According to Telko, it will be implemented on Cisco Converged Broadband Router-8 devices, which meet the requirements of both DOCSIS 3.0 and DOCSIS 3.1 and are already used on Vectra’s network.
Telko adds that the company Klonex-VCS is responsible for the implementation of Cisco solutions on the network.
Last month the operator signed a contract with Finland’s Teleste for the supply of optical nodes for the DOCSIS 3.1 deployment.
