Tele2 has closed the sale of its stake in a joint venture in Kazakhstan to Kazakhtelecom.
In a statement, it says that its board of directors has now invited shareholders to an EGM on August 22 to vote on a proposed extraordinary dividend connected to the proceeds from the sales in Kazakhstan and the Netherlands.
Tele2 adds that the net proceeds of the Kazakh sale, following the deduction of the existing earn-out liability, of $169 million have been received, along with the full repayment of the shareholder loan of KZT80 billion (€184.6 million).
