Netflix CEO Reed Hastings is to join the list of speakers for the 2019 Cambridge Convention, the Royal Television Society has announced.
Further names released on Wednesday include Karen Blackett OBE, Chair of MediaCom UK; Howard Davine, Executive Vice President, Business Operations, ABC Studios; Sir Lenny Henry, actor, comedian and diversity campaigner; Tim Hincks, Co-CEO of Expectation; Jane Turton, CEO of All3Media; and Linda Yaccarino, Chairman of Advertising and Client Partnerships, NBCUniversal.
Theresa Wise, Chief Executive Officer of the Royal Television Society, said: “We are so delighted that Reed Hastings is joining the RTS Cambridge Convention. Reed has been a transformative figure in the television industry globally and I am sure everyone is keen to hear first hand his perspectives and insights.”
The 2019 event, which is set to take place at King’s College in Cambridge from the 18-20th of September, is this year entitled “Content, Consumers, and everything in between”.
Previously announced International Keynote speakers for 2019 include: Jeremy Darroch, Group Chief Executive of Sky and David Zaslav, President and CEO of Discovery. Other speakers will include: Tony Hall, Director-General of the BBC; Alex Mahon, Chief Executive of Channel 4; Carolyn McCall, Chief Executive of ITV; Sharon White, outgoing Chief Executive of Ofcom; and The Rt Hon Jeremy Wright MP, Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport.
