Federico Colom has been appointed the new CEO and chairman of the board of Orange Slovensko, effective May 1.
In the new role he will be responsible for the overall direction of the company, with emphasis on strengthening its operations in the convergence area and the areas of digital services, 5G and IoT.
Colom has come to Orange Slovensko from Orange Group, where he had been working as executive VP and group financial controlling director since 2016. In the years 2007-2016 he served as CFO in Orange Spain. In total, Colom has over 22 years of experience in the telecoms sector in various management positions in finance, controlling and customers service.
Commenting on his appointment, Colom said: “It is an honour, as well as a big responsibility, to join the Slovak team as the new CEO of Orange Slovensko. The challenge is to further evolve in the area of convergence, fixed and digital services. Our mission is clear, we want to connect people and businesses with best in class digital services for human progress, while achieving shared sustainable growth – for our customers, company and the sector itself. Furthermore, I believe that all we do should have a positive impact on our society, contribute to a green economy and digital evolution of our society, while preserving our privacy and security in our digital life. I am looking forward to tackle these objectives with the talented Slovak team and explore the beautiful country as well.”
Colom has taken over from Pavel Lancaric, who after 20 years in this position has become the chairman of the supervisory board of Orange Slovensko.
