Guy Henshilwood has joined Euronews as the new editor-in-chief of its World (English language) edition.
Guy has more than 18 years of international news experience, and started his career as a field producer at CNN, extensively covering the war in Iraq, including the capture of Saddam Hussein. He then worked ten years for Al Jazeera where he held senior management roles on both the newsgathering and production operations in Doha and Kuala Lumpur.
Before joining Euronews, Guy was working as Supervising Editor for MediaCorp in Singapore, overseeing the International Desk and Morning News Output to the network’s news channels.
At Euronews, Guy will oversee programming and newsgathering for the World edition, including the new anchored shows Good Morning Europe, Euronews Now, Raw Politics, Raw Politics Your Call and Euronews Tonight, which, combined, offer 17 hours of daily live shows. He will also oversee the work of The Cube, the live on-air social media newsroom, which specialises in fact checking and debunking fake news.
Working closely with Euronews’ Chief Content Officer Françoise Champey, Guy will ensure that Euronews World continues to grow, that the innovation Euronews has put in place continues to thrive, and that it remains committed to building an influential news brand.
Guy will be based in Euronews’ headquarters in Lyon, France.
