Vivendi is continuing its war of words with Telecom Italia and hedge fund Elliot.
The French media concern says a Statutory Auditors report has revealed “irregularities in governance” at Telecom Italia.
“Vivendi is extremely concerned by the outcome of the Telecom Italia Statutory Auditors report … confirming the existence of serious irregularities related to the governance of the company and its Board of Directors of which a majority of members are from the Elliott list,” the company said in a statement.”
Vivendi says the report confirms the existence of a “shadow Board of Directors” comprised only of the Elliott-nominated Board members.
It is calling for what it calls a “truly independent board” to re-establish the necessary governance.
