Liberty Global’s managing director of programming is to step down, the company has confirmed.
Jeroen Bergman will leave Liberty in June to “pursue other opportunities”. The position will not be filled.
Bergman said: “I set up the central programming team 17 years ago to benefit from consistency and leverage in Liberty’s programming spend across its wide and increasing range of local operating companies. It has been a pleasure and honour to work with this very talented team.”
Bergman joined Liberty Global’s predecessor UPC in 1999. He has led Liberty Global’s programming acquisition efforts for 17 years and previously held general management roles in Chellomedia and UPC Netherlands.

Liberty Global is simplifying its operating structure following a number of mergers and acquisitions. It plans to reallocate content acquisition activities to the markets, while retaining strategic, advisory and investment activities centrally.
