German multiscreen software solutions provider 3 Screen Solutions (3SS) has launched a new pre-integrated solution aimed to help operators optimise and launch Android TV services.
The new combined offering comprises a pre-integrated Technicolor set-top box and middleware with the 3Ready Android TV custom launcher.
The 3SS-Technicolor integration comprises a tiered offering which can support different operator classes. It includes a solution which combines 3Ready and Technicolor ‘Pearl’ set-top boxes geared to address the needs of would-be service providers in growth markets such as Asia and Africa. The same solution can support new market entrants looking to build their businesses by accelerating implementation and revenue flow.
The 3Ready custom launcher delivers a much richer user experience than a standard launcher, while enabling customisation and branding, thus supporting operators’ marketing objectives, according to 3SS, adding that automation and A/B testing capabilities in 3Ready help operators to quickly and clearly understand what new features appeal to viewers, leading to faster and more successful product launches.
Fully compliant with the latest version Android P, 3SS and Technicolor are working together on further major new Android TV operator tier projects, to be announced.
