Hrvatski Telekom (HT) has a signed a purchase agreement with HP-Hrvatska posta for the acquisition of a 100% stake in HP Produkcija, the operator of the evotv service.
According to the telco, the deal is subject to regulatory approvals and is expected to be completed by the end of this year.
It adds that evotv is a simple service in the Croatian pay-TV market, enabled by using a digital DVB-T signal which can be received through an existing antenna. In operation since 2012, its signal currently covers 94% of Croatian households.
Evotv had 71,185 customers and 30 employees as of June 30 this year. It also had revenues of HRK57 million (€7.67 million) and a market share of 6% in 2017.
Commenting on the development, Davor Tomaskovic, president of mangement board at HT, said: “With the closing of the acquisition of evotv, Hrvatski Telekom would improve its position in the growing pay-TV market, thereby further expanding the range of its services. Due to the mode of operating and the availability of evotv service, we shall provide quality programme content to our customers, available in every corner of Croatia. And to evotv customers, HT shall also offer them viewing the best television programme in the future.”
