Google has released a new version of its Chromecast hardware that allows viewers to ‘cast’ content from their phone or tablet to a suitably equipped television display.
Priced in the UK at £30 Chromecast 3 is the latest update to the product that first appeared in 2013. The two colour version, black or white, has replaced the second generation version in the Google Store. It is also available at retail.
The processing power has been upgraded to 1080p at 60fps and the device also includes voice control.
Arguably it’s what the device is expected to do in later updates, such as multiroom audio and the ability to link with Bluetooth, which is of greatest interest.
