Christian Anting to head All Media Baltics

October 1, 2018 12.25 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

Christian Anting has been appointed the new group CEO at All Media Baltics.

AM Baltics was created in October 2017 after Providence Equity Partners acquired all of the media and pay-TV companies of MTG in the Baltics. Today, it operates TV, radio and digital media channels and assets in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.

Anting most recently served as a member of the management board in charge of digital & eCommerce at the TVN Group in Poland. In this post, he was responsible for all TVN’s digital and e-commerce activities including online entertainment, OTT services and retail and the company’s digital venture arm, TVN Ventures.

In his new post, Anting will oversee all day to day operations of AM Baltics. He will also work closely with Providence Equity Partner-owned BITE Group, one of the largest international telecom groups in the Baltic countries, to create new content, entertainment and digital initiatives.

Commenting on the appointment, Tony Ball, senior adviser of Providence Equity Partners and chairman of the supervisory board of BITE Group, said: “Christian Anting brings extensive international experience across free TV, pay-TV and digital. We are looking forward to working with Christian on driving business growth and developing new products and services together with our mobile operator BITE.”

Pierre Danon, who serves as chairman at AM Baltics, added: “We’re excited to have Christian become AM Baltics’ CEO and join our talented management team. His international expertise in running media businesses will further accelerate AM Baltics growth and the digital transformation we started 12 months ago.”

Anting said: “I am very excited to join the AM Baltics team and lead the implementation of its strategic plan across all three markets working closely together with the local management teams. The Baltic countries are among the leaders in Europe when it comes to embracing and implementing digitalisation. With the support of Providence Equity Partners, AM Baltics has initiated a digital transformation process that will lead to a wide range of innovative entertainment options for our audiences in the future.”

Anting joined TVN Group in 2010 as COO and VP of the management of TVN’s pay-TV Platforms, Telewizja n and ncplus. His previous positions include SBS Broadcasting in London and Amsterdam; CMore Entertainment in Stockholm; KirchGroup; and Premiere (Sky Deutschland) in Munich.
