KPN announces changes in management structure

August 28, 2018 09.14 Europe/London By Robert Briel

KPN is making changes to its management structure including the Board of Management.

The position of Chief Commercial Officer will be split into two new management roles: Chief Consumer Market and Chief Business Market. In anticipation of these changes, Frank van der Post, currently Member of the Board of Management and CCO, has agreed with the Supervisory Board to align himself with these changes and will step down on 15 September 2018, a few months prior to the end of his term early next year. Following these changes, KPN’s Board of Management will consist of three members: Mr Maximo Ibarra (CEO), Mr Jan Kees de Jager (CFO) and Mr Joost Farwerck (COO).

“The Supervisory Board is grateful to Frank for his achievements. His focus on value and convergence in Consumer is delivering solid results and the transformation of the Business segment is taking shape. His expertise and dedication were instrumental in the strong improvement of KPN’s customer satisfaction over the past years. Frank also played a pivotal role in shaping a dedicated and centralized Data & Analytics team,” said Duco Sickinghe, Chairman of KPN’s Supervisory Board.

Jean-Pascal Van Overbeke (pictured above) has been appointed as Chief Consumer Market, effective as of 1 September 2018. He will oversee the day-to-day operations of KPN’s Consumer activities and report to Maximo Ibarra, CEO of KPN. Next to his role as CEO, Mr Ibarra will temporarily assume the position of Chief Business Market, in which he will oversee the day-to-day operations of KPN’s Business activities.

Maximo Ibarra, CEO of KPN: “We are excited to welcome Jean-Pascal to KPN, who is bringing in a wealth of leadership, strategic, commercial, and operational experience to our management team. He has demonstrated a great track record of accomplishments in challenging environments. I am confident that his extensive expertise in the telecommunications industry creates a great foundation to enable us to accelerate a successful execution of our strategy.”
