The Czech Republic’s O2 TV has developed a new generation set-top box.
Released on July 23, it offers more attractive features than the current device but costs the same CZK1,900 (€73.5).
The Czech incumbent O2 says that the O2 Smart Box is the company’s second device fashioned by the successful Czech designer Martin Tvaruzek. In addition to a modern appearance, it displays content clearly in My Menu.
Branislav Valo, responsible for O2 TV, said: “A new remote bluetooth driver is also ready for (users) to communicate with the TV without even directing it to a new set-top box, and customers can control their TV and turn the STB and TV on and off with a single touch of the button”.
He added: “In the next phase, we plan to make third-party applications available, for example to enjoy an integrated YouTube player or DVB-T/T2 digital terrestrial receiver without the O2 TV service”.
