Sony has called a halt to its plans to enter Spain’s DTT market.
El Economista reports that this follows months of talks aimed at securing slots opened up by the channels Ten and Thirteen.
It adds that Sony is currently present in the country through the pay channels AXN and AXN White.
Sony’s decision has been influenced by signs of weakness in Spain’s TV ad market, which is dominated by Atresmedia and Mediaset, claiming a combined share of 85.2%.
TV ad spend fell by 4.1% to €501.8 million in the first three months of this year.
