The Russian OTT platform ivi has suspended the streamed channel offer it added to its service late last month.
According to Kommersant, this follows complaints from several major TV channels that they are being distributed as part of a paid subscription without a contract.
It adds that ivi is now negotiating directly with the channels, which are represented by Vitrina TV (‘Showcase TV’).
Vitrina TV was established earlier this year as a joint venture by Channel One Russia, VGTRK, National Media Group (NMG) and CTC Media. Its aim is to create a unified technological solution for the distribution and monetisation of online content.
As previously reported by Broadband TV News, the streamed channels are being supplied to ivi by Rostelecom.
