Telia changes group’s executive management

May 28, 2018 09.14 Europe/London By Robert Briel

Telia has changed the composition of its Group Executive Management.

Anders Olsson, SVP, CEO and Head of Global Services & Operations (GSO) at Telia Company, has been appointed EVP and CEO of Telia Sweden. Magnus Zetterberg will replace Olsson as COO and Head of GSO.

Henriette Wendt, SVP and Head of Telia Company’s businesses in Lithuania, Estonia and Denmark, will leave her position and will be replaced by Emil Nilsson who is currently SVP and Head of Region Eurasia.

Anders Olsson has an extensive experience from the telecommunications industry and spent nearly 20 years at Tele2 where he was a member of the Group Executive Management before he joined Telia Company in 2016 to become COO and to head Global Services and Operations (GSO).

Anders Olsson replaces Johan Dennelind, President and CEO of Telia Company, who has been acting CEO of Telia Sweden and takes up his new position on 1 June.

Magnus Zetterberg will replace Anders Olsson as COO and Head of GSO. He starts in October, at the latest, and will become Senior Vice President and a member of the Group Executive Management. Magnus Zetterberg has worked in the telecom industry for the last 26 years with assignments such as CTO at and CEO of 3GIS and lately CTO at Telenor Norway since 2014.

“I’m very happy that Anders has accepted to head our Swedish operations. We need a strong execution focus on our strategic agenda with a continued transformation program and culture building paired with strong cost focus and commercial drive. I am glad that we have great succession internally for such an important role. I’m also very pleased to welcome Magnus Zetterberg to Telia Company. Magnus’ deep understanding of our line of business is a most welcome addition to our company and to GSO,” says Johan Dennelind.

Anders Olsson says: “It was an easy decision to say yes to Sweden’s most exciting job within telecom. I’m really looking forward to continuing the great work the Swedish organization is doing to create a new generation telco.”

Henriette Wendt, Senior Vice President and Cluster Head of Telia Company’s businesses in Lithuania, Estonia and Denmark, who joined Telia Company in 2014, will leave her position as of 1 June. During a period of time she will remain with the company to support key projects.

“Henriette has done a great job for Telia Company, first as Head of Group Corporate Development where she oversaw the creation of our new generation telco strategy and ensured the implementation of an integrated sustainability strategy. During the last year and a half, as Head of Lithuania, Estonia and Denmark, she has made sure that our Telia brands in Lithuania and Estonia are on the right path to become integrated, converged market leaders,” says Johan Dennelind.

Emil Nilsson, currently Senior Vice President and Head of Region Eurasia, will replace Henriette Wendt as Head of Lithuania, Estonia and Denmark, and become a member of the Group Executive Management. Emil Nilsson will continue to head Telia Company’s Region Eurasia.

“Emil has done an outstanding job in maintaining focus in our Eurasian assets while we have been in divestment processes at the same time. I welcome Emil into the new role and look forward to his future contributions in the creation of a leading integrated operator in the Nordics and Baltics, “ says Johan Dennelind.

Telia Company’s Group Executive Management headed by Johan Dennelind will continue to consist of eleven members.
