Danish telecoms to cable group TDC says a growth rate of 2.7% shows its back on track. Earnings of DKK 2.1 billion are at their highest since 2010.
Pernille Erenbjerg, Group CEO and President of TDC Group attributes the shift to a range of structural changes along with the roll-out of gigaspeed broadband to half of Danish homes, a radical digitalisation programme, flexible TV solutions and the development of own content.
“Since the launch of our strategy two years ago, we have been working towards reversing the trend and creating growth in our business in 2018. The financial statements confirm that we are on track for the target this year. All the employees have put in a tremendous effort to achieve this, making TDC Group much stronger now than it was two years ago,” says Pernille Erenbjerg, Group CEO and President of TDC Group.
New point-based channel selection TV packages have been introduced on YouSee and the cable/IPTV network has also begun to develop exclusive content, beginning with comedy. The packages have helped shift existing customers to larger packages.
There was still subscriber erosion of 18,000 on the quarter, in line with the run rate of previous years.
