Playboy TV has signed a deal with French adult broadcaster Marc Dorcel to programme and distribute the channel in parts of Europe, Africa and the Middle East, the two companies aid during this year’s MIP TV.
Marc Dorcel will be in charge of the programming of the Playboy TV channel, its distribution as well as the management of its on-demand offer, from May 1, 2018.
The agreement does not include Great Britain, Spain and Portugal.
Playboy TV’s schedule will continue to offer the programmes of the American brand and will also include a selection of content from Marc Dorcel’s catalogue. Specific content will be produced in Europe to better suit European tastes.
“We will put all our local expertise at the service of the Playboy TV Europe channel with a single objective: to make it the most attractive to the European public,” general manager Gregory Dorcel said.
“As Playboy TV explored potential partners, Marc Dorcel was the clear choice to program Playboy TV Europe to meet the high expectations of our viewers while leveraging their vast industry experience to enhance the channel for the local market,” said Gary Rosenson, President of Playboy TV.
“Marc Dorcel also brings to the partnership strong relationships with local operators to ensure the channel delivers the experience expected of the brand.”
