Sky Q’s bundling strategy in the UK may be different to that in Germany and Italy, according to Nick Herm, strategy director, Sky.
Speaking at the Connected TV World Summit, he added that he wasn’t at this stage able to reveal whether the Netflix bundle would be exclusive to Sky Q. It is important to note that Netflix’s position in each country, and the way it is seen by customers, is different. Herm said that Sky may consider each partner on their merits and the commercial terms they can agree on. In short, on a case-by-case basis.
Looking more generally at Sky Q, Herm said that it has been Sky’s fastest growing product ever. It already has 2 million customers and is consistently in the top two reasons to join Sky.
Sky Q also offers the best choice of content and aggregates TV content and broader content, the latter including Netflix and BT Sport, with which Sky has recently reached agreements.
