DIFFA and Lagardère Studios Distribution (LSD) are consolidating their collaboration in order to respond to the expansion of the African audiovisual market and to the growing demand for quality content.
Within this framework, Emmanuelle Bouilhaguet has been appointed as managing director of DIFFA, to run in parallel with her role as managing director of LSD. This synergy will enable DIFFA to benefit from the existing brand awareness of LSD and from the knowledge and experience of its teams.
Alain Modot, appointed as VP of DIFFA, will continue with acquisitions, catalogue development (films, series, animation and creative documentaries) and production support (seeking out opportunities for co-financing, pre-sales, minimum guarantees and co-production).
“Since its establishment in Africa in 2015, Lagardère Studios has been committed to supporting the production of African projects across the entire distribution chain with particular focus on the new generation of producers, both men and women, who are legitimately seeking recognition in the international programme market,” said Christophe Thoral, president of Lagardère Studios.
“The consolidation of these two distribution structures will promote programme circulation which is a major objective of Lagardère Studios.”
