AMC consolidates in Southern Europe

February 14, 2018 08.31 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

AMC Networks International has expanded its business unit to now include France and Italy.

The new unit, called AMC Networks International Southern Europe, will be headed by Eduardo Zulueta, who is also president of AMC Networks International Latin America.

It will be headquartered in Madrid and now manage SundanceTV France, taking on its production, programming, marketing and distribution processes in the French market.

Founded by Robert Redford, the channel is available in France on Orange, Canal+, SFR, Bouygues Telecom and FREE.

Furthermore, AMC Networks International Southern Europe will explore new business opportunities in the French market and work toward distributing channels and content in Italy.

Manuel Balsera, senior VP of AMC Networks International Southern Europe, will lead the areas of Affiliates, Ad Sales, Marketing and Digital, while Pilar de las Casas will oversee the programming and acquisitions strategy as VP of cinema and documentary channels.

The remaining functions will also be managed by executives of the previous AMC Networks International Iberia unit.
