TF1’s catch-up is being dropped from the Orange network in France.
In a statement issued Thursday, TF1 said it regretted being unable to reach an agreement, two years after initial discussions about an enhanced version of the MYTF1 catch-up service and new TF1 Premium got underway.
“Our goal remains to find a balanced and fair agreement to provide viewers Orange subscribers a value-added experience around our channels,” said Gilles Pelisson, Chairman and CEO, TF1. Their satisfaction is our priority and we remind them that the replay channel TF1 Group remains available on MYTF1.fr and via MYTF1 implementation. ”
The renegotiation process between TF1 and its partners has not been easy. Last November an agreement with Altice-SFR was reached, but only after a three-month absence of the catch-up services.
Earlier this week an agreement was reached with Bouygues Telecom, like TF1 a subsidiary of the Bouygues Group.
TF1 has now asked Orange to cease distribution of TF1, TMC, TFX (the former NT1), TF1 Films Series (ex HD1) and LCI.
