Bulgaria will shortly see the launch of its first Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO).
According to Novinite, five regional TV and internet providers have teamed up to launch a service and are in talks with the three GSMs in Bulgaria to gain access to their networks.
It adds that the five companies โ Net 1, Neterra, Skat, Telekabel and Telekom โ have created a joint venture named Mobile Alternative Communications in which they all hold an equal stake.
The aim of the joint venture is to launch consumer services by the end of this year.
Bulgaria is one of the few countries not only in Europe but the world still without an MVNO.
