French pay-TV group Canal+ wants to launch a TV channel for the lovers of classical music together with music label Deutsche Grammophon in 2018.
This is reported by French newspaper Le Figaro. Further details are not known at this stage.
Deutsche Grammophon is part of Universal Music, a subsidiary of Vivendi, the French media company which also operates Canal+.
There are already several channels for the fans of classical music in Europe, for example Stingray Classica, Stingray Brava and Mezzo.
[Update, January 18, 2018] Deutsche Grammophon, Universal Music and Canal+ have confirmed today that the channel will launch in Q2 2018.
